(For all types of installation.)
The power distribution network is a complex network that distributes electric power from the generating station to various loads, such as industries and households. The distribution network consists of two major parts: High-voltage (HT) and Low-voltage (LT) networks. HT lines are typically used for long distance transmission and LT lines are used for local distribution.
The HT lines carry electricity at voltages of 138 kV to 765 kV, which is about 20,000 times higher than the voltage on LT lines which ranges from 1.4 to 45 kV. The high voltage in HT lines allows it to be transmitted over longer distances with lower loss of energy than low voltage in LT Lines.
